My first day in school

Our teacher is an inexperienced teacher by the name of Miss Caroline Fisher. She is very arrogant and strict when she disciplines her students. She introduced us about the Dewey Decimal System as i thought that it was crap. It was too easy for me.

In class, i was writing a letter and was caught by her, she was shocked that i could already read and write fluently at my current age of six. She also told to me to ask my father not to educate me about reading and writing as we only learn to read and write in the first grade. I felt so insulted.

I am really beginning to feel that coming to school is boring and a complete waste of time. I think i must think of some ways or excuses not to be in school as I am not gaining any knowledge as i should in school. What excuses can i come up with...?

Who am I?

Hi my name is Scout... many people thinks that Scout is a guy's name as when they first hear my name, they thought that i was a guy. I live with my dad Atticus and Jem my lovely brother. We all live in a small town called Maycomb. My dad is a lawyer and my brother Jem loves sports especially football. Did i also mention that we have a housekeeper that acts like a mother to us, she does all the cooking for us, she is black by the way and that is the reason why i do not really like her very much. I love to read and wirte as well, i feel that i am already very smart for my age as many people of my age still can't write at all.
